Gladys T. Zwiebel, 85, of Wapakoneta, passed away at 7:02 p.m. Saturday, May 20, 2017 at St. Rita’s Medical Center, Lima.
She was born on June 22, 1931 in Fryburg, OH to Eamer R. & Norma K. (Eisert) Ruppert who preceded her in death. On July 6, 1949 she married Punk Zwiebel and he passed away on July 6, 2008.
Survivors include three children, David (Marlene) Zwiebel, Becky (Glen) Walker, Barb Zwiebel all of Wapakoneta; seven grandchildren, Greg (Deanna) Walker, Dan (Lori) Walker both of Wapakoneta, Julia (Steve) Curtis of MI, Amy (Matt) Gill of Uniopolis, Thomas Zwiebel of MI, Jenna (David) Junkins, Erica (Eric) Payne both of Wapakoneta; nine great-grandchildren, Emma Walker, Justin Walker, Elliana Pina, Piper Payne, Josephine Gill, Charleigh Gill, Keaton Walker, Jacob Payne, Kaden Junkins; a sister, Betty Johnson; four sister-in-laws, Shirley (Irvin) Totten, Susie Mansfield, Patty Ruppert and Eloise Ruppert.
She was preceded in death by two brothers, Whitey and Dale Ruppert.
Gladys was a homemaker and a fireman’s wife. She was a lifelong member of St. Joseph Catholic Church. Most of all she loved her family.
Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 10:30 a.m. Friday, May 26, 2017 at St. Joseph Catholic Church with Rev. Patrick Sloneker officiating. Burial will follow at the church cemetery. Friends may call from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Thursday at Schlosser Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Wapakoneta.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be directed to the Auglaize County Crippled Children and Adults or to the St. Joseph Catholic Church, Capital Improvement.
