Gary G. Kantner, 74, of Wapakoneta, passed away at 3:09 p.m. Wednesday February 14, 2018 at Lima Memorial Health System, Lima.
He was born in Wapakoneta on December 24, 1943 to Grant & Dorothy (Henderson) Kantner. His father has preceded him in death and his mother survives in Wapakoneta.
On June 27, 1965 he married Sandra L. “Sandy” Scott and she passed away on December 28, 2015.
Survivors also include a son and two daughters; Gary S. “Scott” Kantner, Kellye Kantner both of Wapakoneta, Tina (Jason) Miller of St. Marys, three grandchildren; Braedan, Tyler and Zoey Miller, two sisters; Carol Copeland and Kathryn Norman.
He was preceded in death by a son; Brian Kantner, a sister; Betty Evans and a brother; Fred Kantner.
Gary retired after 30 years at the Wapakoneta Machine Company. He was a member of St. Paul U.C.C., Wapakoneta and the Eagles #691. He was an outdoorsman who enjoyed fishing and hunting. He also enjoyed watching The Ohio State University Buckeyes and dearly loved his grandchildren.
Funeral services will begin at 4:00 p.m. Sunday, February 18, 2018 at Schlosser Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Wapakoneta with Rev. Janice Burns-Watson officiating. Friends may call from 2:00 p.m. until the time of the service.
