Frederick W. Fisher, 90, of Venice, FL, formerly of Wapakoneta died October 8, 2009, at Venice Regional Medical Center.
Mr. Fisher was born February 25, 1919 to Charles W. and Anna C. (Stein) Fisher in Wapakoneta. On June 1, 1940 he married Evelyn R. Coker who passed away on September 21, 1983. On February 26, 2000 he married Maria Arrieta who survives in Venice, FL.
Mr. Fisher graduated from Blume High School in 1937 and Woodbury College in Los Angeles in 1940. During WWII he was a member of the army as a military food inspector. He was co-owner and president of Fisher Cheese Company until 1976, He was a member of the Masons, and especially proud to have been a member of the Ohio Commodores, with whom he traveled on several trade missions with Governor James Rhodes.
Mr. Fisher is survived by 3 children; Stephen F. (Judy) Fisher of Silt, CO; Joy C. (Chuck) Kantner of Wapakoneta; and Dr. Eric B. (Joerdie) Fisher of Lima; 1 step-son Johan Vargas;6 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and 1 great-great-grandson; 1 sister Louise Koch of Nokomis, FL. He was preceded in death by 3 brothers; Harold, DeWitt, and J. Paul Fisher; 1 sister Emma Rosentrator; and a grandson Ian Fisher.
Funeral Services will be held Saturday October 24, 2009 at 2 p.m. at Schlosser Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 615 N. Dixie Hwy. Friends may call from noon until the time of the service. Officiating will be Rev. Steven Nelson. Burial will follow at Greenlawn Cemetery in Wapakoneta.
