Everett B. Merrill Jr.

Everett B. Merrill Jr., 94, of Wapakoneta passed away at 9:35 a.m. Thursday November 14, 2024 at his residence.

He was born on April 22, 1930 in Cincinnati, OH to Everett B. & Isabella (Schlapp) Merrill Sr. who preceded him in death.  His mother then married Carl Smith who also preceded him in death.  On October 25, 1958 he married Mildred M. (Norris) Halloran and she passed away on May 24, 1983.  On July 7, 1990 he married Nancy Jane Walter and she survives.

He is also survived by a daughter Rhonda Merrill of Wapakoneta; 10 grandchildren Angela (Joe Rodmaker) Brissey, Jeff (Jessica) Yost, James (Colette) Obrien, Doretta (Todd) Clenney, Tonya Wysong, Tron (Christy) Obrien, Everett Manor, Richard (Sunni) Johnson, Eddie Halloran, Douglas Halloran and numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; 3 sisters-in-law Kay Manger, Beth (Reub) Maki, Linda Walter; a brother-in-law Dave (June) Walter.

He was preceded in death by two daughters Carolyn Miller, Edna Obrien; a son Edward Halloran; infant granddaughter Milly; infant grandson Troy; two sons-in-law A C Miller, James Obrien; a sister-in-law Phyllis Wagner and a brother-in-law Joe Walter.

He attended Washington Trade School in Cincinnati.  He then served in the U.S. Army in Izmir, Turkey in the Signal Corps attached to NATO for 2 ½ years.  He worked at Rich Pumo Ladder Company, Cincinnati Coffin Company both in Cincinnati, Hallmack Products, Harrodsburg, KY and retired from Superior Metal Products, Lima as a corporate chemical engineer in 1992.  He was also a member of St. John Catholic Church, Fryburg.

Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, November 20, 2024 at St. John Catholic Church, Fryburg with Rev. Sean Wilson officiating.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery.  Family and friends may visit from 2-8 p.m. Tuesday at Schlosser Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Wapakoneta.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be directed to Holy Face of Jesus Parish.
