Emily Ann Saam 17, of Wapakoneta died at 12:50 p.m. Thursday July 11, 2013 from injuries sustained in a motor vehicle accident at S.R. 501 & Linzee Rd.
She was born in Lima, OH on June 3, 1996 to Alex E. & Kelley Saam Jr. and Jennifer E.(Rhodes) and John Ickes both of Wapakoneta who survive.
Survivors also include a brother and four sisters; Alexandria Adams, Harlie Ickes, Madison, Drew, and Lindsey Saam, grandparents Vera Potter of Lima, Richard and Joann Rhodes of Alger, Chuck & Kim Quick of Wapakoneta, Alex Sr. & Mary Ann Saam of Cridersville, Neal & Connie Brincefield of Wapakoneta, and numerous aunt, uncles, and cousins.
Emily had just finished her sophomore year at Wapakoneta Senior High and was planning on attending Apollo Career Center this fall to pursue a medical career towards being a marine biologist. She was also going into her 12th year of dancing of which she especially loved tap dancing. She really enjoyed reading, horses and sharks. She was also employed at Bob Evans her in Wapakoneta where she worked as a greeter. She will always be remembered as being a big sister to her brothers and sisters whom she loved unconditionally.
Funeral services are scheduled to begin at 1:00 p.m. Sunday July 14, 2013 at Schlosser Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Wapakoneta. Pastor Steven Nelson will be officiating. Burial will follow at Greenlawn Cemetery, Wapakoneta. Friends may call from 2-8 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be directed to the WHS Flag Corp. in which she was member of.
