Eileen Werling

Eileen M. Werling, 91, of Wapakoneta, Ohio, passed away at 12:44 a.m., Friday, February 21, 2025 at Vancrest of St. Marys.

She was born on July 5, 1933 in St. Marys Township, OH to Louis and Mildred (Kruse) Henschen who preceded her in death. On May 7, 1965 she married Harold A. Werling and he survives in Wapakoneta.

Survivors include 7 children Faith (Gary) Hoagland, Brett Kiser, Carolyn (Max) Perez, Don Werling, Tom Werling, Dawn (Tom) Colville, Kathy (Roger) Napier; 24 grandchildren; 41 great-grandchildren; 4 great-great-grandchildren and a sister Ruth (Jerry) Dewitt.

She was preceded in death by a grandson Jacob Ulrey, daughter-in-law Deb Kiser, siblings Marie (Andrew) Graessle, Marjorie (Bill) Shelby, Eileen (Leo) Chiles, Waneta (Dick) Journay and Allen (Eileen) Wright.

Eileen was a 1951 graduate of New Knoxville High School. She had worked at Diegel Canning Factory, Weight Watchers and was also home health aide with Joint Township District Memorial Hospital. She was very active at St. Paul U.C.C. where she sang in the chancel choir and had served on the Women's Guild and Church Council. She enjoyed sewing and made blankets for all her grandchildren.

Funeral services will begin at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, February 26, 2025 at Schlosser Funeral Home & Cremation Services with Pastor Anthony Spearhart officiating. Burial will follow at Greenlawn Cemetery, Wapakoneta.

Family and friends may visit from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
