Edward F. Doseck 86, of Cridersville died at 9:42 A.M. December 12, 2012 at St. Rita's Medical Center, Lima.
He was born in Auglaize County on October 19, 1926 to Benjamin F. & Viola E. (Bishop) Doseck who preceded him in death.
On December 19, 1945 he married Jean Maxine Hartman who survives in Cridersville.
Survivors also include two sons and a daughter; Glenn (Kay) Doseck, Susan (Arn) Bortz, and Mike (Kathy) Doseck, 7 grandchildren Brent (Pam) Doseck, Christopher (Marivic) Doseck, Molly (Dylan) Bortz Druffel, Samuel Edward Bortz, Abigail Bortz, Logan Doseck, and Hayley Doseck, 6 great-grandchildren Seth Dawson, Troy Doseck, Warren Alcarez, Addison Doseck, Benjamin Doseck, and Jackson Bortz Druffel, and two sisters Alice Kuhlman and Carolyn Brown.
He was preceded in death by a brother Harold Doseck and a great grandson Jesse Doseck.
Edward was a graduate of Blume High School in Wapakoneta. He was a U.S. Navy veteran serving during WWII in the south Pacific on the U.S.S. Howard F. Clark DE533 as a gunners mate. He had been employed by Fisher Cheese in Wapakoneta as a dairyman. For numerous years he served Allen, Auglaize, and Shelby County Health Departments as a sanitarian. He was a member of First English Lutheran Church, American Legion, and the Hamer Lodge 167, F. & A.M. He was a lifetime member of the V.F.W. Post 8445. He enjoyed fishing and loved spending time with his family especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Funeral services are scheduled to begin at 10:30 A.M. Friday December 14, 2012 at Schlosser Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Wapakoneta. Pastor Steve Nelson will be officiating. Burial will follow at Greenlawn Cemetery with military rites provided by the V.F.W. Post 8445. Friends may call one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be directed to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation or to the Leukemia Society.
