Dorothy E. Cummins, 89, of Wapakoneta died at 5:00 a.m. Sunday October 25, 2015 at Wapakoneta Manor.
She was born in Lorain, OH on August 13, 1926 to John & Agnes (Wallace) Butler who both preceded her in death. On June 2, 1946 she married Byron M. Cummins and he passed away on April 20, 2008.
Survivors include; 4 children Merritt (Lisa) Cummins of CA, Lilburn (Sharon) Cummins, Nancy (Randy Stelzer) Buettner both of Wapakoneta, Donald (Karen ) Cummins of Lima, 8 grandchildren Kristine Cummins, Todd Cummins, Andy (Kristina) Cummins, Melissa (Bill) Balbaugh, Penny (Kevin) Shook, Matthew Cummins, Jessica (Joe) Cade, Michael Cummins, 10 great-grandchildren Doug, Sharolyn, Kaden, Kassie, Hazel, Sam, Lucy, Tyler, Ian, Cooper, 5 step-grandchildren Wes & Linda, Monica, Rich, Jamie, Michael & Yang, 10 step-great- grandchildren Kelsey, Lindsey, Nick, Kelsey, Karlee, Isabelle, Alyssa, Emersyn, Amity and Bryson.
Dorothy was a homemaker and worked at the Sundial Motel in Wapakoneta and the Waynesfield-Goshen Schools. She enjoyed camping with her family and friends and also crocheting and doing plastic canvas for her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She also enjoyed league bowling, baking and making hard tack candy. She was involved with the New Hampshire Institute doing plays and acting parts and also with the New Hampshire Minstrels Program where she also sang. She was a member of the Waynesfield United Methodist Church where she helped with the Harvest Supper. She enjoyed traveling with the "Fun Bunch" from New Hampshire. She greatly enjoyed attending her grandchildren's and great-grandchildren's sporting and musical events.
Funeral services will begin at 11:00 a.m. on Friday October 30, 2015 at Schlosser Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Wapakoneta. Pastor Kathleen Hayes will be officiating. Burial will follow at Walnut Hill Cemetery near New Hampshire. Friends may call from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. on Thursday and 1 hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
