Dona M. Zwiebel

Dona M. Zwiebel, 95, of Wapakoneta, passed away at 3:35 p.m., Tuesday, September 24, 2024 at Cridersville Healthcare Center.

She was born on January 4, 1929 in Wapakoneta, OH to Edison and Milda (Hollenbacher) Schumann who preceded her in death.  On August 24, 1947 she married Paul Zwiebel and he passed away on June 29, 2017.

Survivors include 6 children Paula (Don) Reese of Wapakoneta; Kathy (Steve) Simon of Canfield, OH; Lynne (Chuck) Lawson of Lima; Julie (Ron) Rupert of Whitesboro, TX; Jeff (Judy) Zwiebel of Wapakoneta; Jayne (Dave) Roth of Camden, MI; 18 grandchildren; 44 great-grandchildren and 10 great-great-grandchildren.

Dona was preceded in death by 2 great-grandchildren and 2 sisters Doris Brautigam and Bernita Brown.

Dona was a graduate of Botkins High School.  She was a homemaker and helped her husband on their family farm.  She enjoyed gardening, sewing and making Easter and Christmas candy.  She was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church Missouri Synod.

Funeral services will begin at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, September 28, 2024 at St. John’s Lutheran Church Missouri Synod 15321 Pusheta Rd. with Rev. Thomas Chamberlain officiating.  Burial will follow at the church cemetery.  Family and friends may visit an hour prior to the service.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be directed to St. Johns Volunteer Fire & Rescue.
