Donald E. "Don" Cole, 80, of Wapakoneta died at 7:07 p.m. Saturday September 6, 2014 at St. Rita's Medical Center, Lima.
He was born on November 25, 1933 in Wapakoneta to George & Leota (Hawkey) Cole who preceded him in death. On September 11, 1955 he married Susan Hill and she survives in Wapakoneta.
Survivors also include 2 daughters; Betsy & Mike Kitta and Julie & Curt Salmons, 5 grandchildren Josh Cole, Casey Kitta, Coran Kitta, Seth Salmons and Donald Jeffery Salmons, 4 great-grandchildren BillyDean Jo Cole, Isabella Salmons, MacKenzie Salmons and soon expecting Hayden James Salmons, a sister Betty & Russ Moon, a brother James & Marty Cole and a sister-in-law Donna Jean Cole.
He was preceded in death by an infant son, 2 brothers and a sister-in-law Cliff & Rosie Hawkey and George Cole.
Don worked at Fisher Cheese Company and then retired from the Auglaize County Highway Department after 30 plus years of service. He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed fishing, hunting and trapping turtles. He especially loved his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Friends may call from 2-5 p.m. Wednesday September 10, 2014 at Schlosser Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Wapakoneta. A private family service will follow afterwards.
