Dennis P. Chinn, age 69, of Wapakoneta, Ohio, passed away peacefully at St. Rita’s Hospital in Lima, Ohio, on Tuesday, April 26, 2022, surrounded by his family.
Dennis was born on May 31, 1952, in Madison Heights, Michigan, the youngest son of the late Charles Chinn and Louise (Berger) Chinn. On June 10, 1970, he married Connie (Meyer) Chinn in Warren, Michigan.
Dennis and Connie went on to have two children, Angela (Bill) Hite, and Charles (Stormie) Chinn. Dennis was “Grampy” to Kathryn, Kelsey, and Cooper Hite, Allison and Samantha Chinn, bonus grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and his dog Millie. He is also survived by his sister Patricia Newman and many nephews, nieces, and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents and siblings Phillip Chinn, Rosemary Lewis, Donald Chinn, and Sharon West.
Dennis served in the United States Army as a tank mechanic. He was honorably discharged as a Sergeant in 1979 after 7 years of service. He then worked at General Dynamics in Lima, Ohio for 34 years. Dennis enjoyed spending time with family, playing pinochle, fishing, and traveling to his favorite food destinations.
Funeral services will begin at 3:00 p.m. Saturday, April 30, 2022 at Schlosser Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Wapakoneta, 615 N. Dixie Hwy., Wapakoneta with military rites being performed by the V.F.W. Post 8445. Family and friends may visit from noon until the time of the service at the funeral home.
