Dennis L. Mccormick

Dennis L. McCormick, 59, of Wapakoneta, passed away at 10:51 p.m., Tuesday, October 3, 2023 at Mercy Health - St. Rita's.  He was born on February 16, 1964 in St. Marys, to Roland E. and Marilyn A. (Kruse) McCormick who survive in Wapakoneta.  On June 27, 1987, he married Lisa A. Knepper, who survives.

Survivors also include one brother, David E. (Angela K.) McCormick, of Florence, KY; mother- and step-father-in-law, Leota "Lea" ( Jim) Muhlenkamp, Sidney; four siblings-in-law, Aaron Knepper, Kathy Spillers, Jennifer Muhlenkamp, and Jason Muhlenkamp, all of Sidney; six nieces and nephews, Kathryn, Anna, and Matthew McCormick, and Nitasha, Shayne, and Lance Knepper; three great-nieces and nephews, Robert Winglewish, Luna Hatfield, Sage Daniels, and Finnick Knepper; and his canine companion, Jake.

He was preceded in death by his father-in-law, Jerry Knepper.

Dennis was a 1982 graduate of Wapakoneta High School.  While in high school and continuing for many years after, he worked as an auto body technician at McCormick Auto Body.  He liked playing poker, especially when he was winning.  In his free time, Dennis also enjoyed going to tractor shows and collecting wheel horse tractors.  He will be remembered for his teasing attitude, which he used to give his nieces and nephews a hard time.  Never malicious, Dennis had a biting sense of humor, who loved getting a rise out of people.

Funeral Services will begin at 12 noon Saturday, October 7, 2023, at Schlosser Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Wapakoneta.  Rev. Josh Tissot will officiate the service.  Burial will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery.  Friends and family may call from 10:00 a.m. until the time of services Saturday at the funeral home.  Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of the donor's choice.
