Darlene "Dottie" Kohler, 84, of Wapakoneta died at 11:40 a.m. Sunday August 25, 2013 at St. Rita's Medical Center, Lima.
She was born on April 15, 1929 in Minster, Oh to Reuben Conrad Peter & Marie (Vanderhorst) Braun who preceded her in death. On November 11, 1949 she married Lawrence "Spike" Kohler who survives in Wapakoneta.
Survivors also include two sons and two daughters; Jim (Peg) Kohler, Keith (Dorothy) Kohler both of Wapakoneta, Karen (Craig) Fledderjohann and Judy (Dave) Bambauer both of New Knoxville, 11 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren, a brother Dale (Vickie) Braun of Grapeland, TX, and a brother-in-law Allen Bushman of New Bremen.
She was preceded in death by a daughter Kaye Kristine Kohler and a sister Linda Bushman.
Dottie was a 1947 graduate of New Bremen High School. She had worked at Standard Churn in Wapakoneta and Crown Control in New Bremen and then became a homemaker. She was a member of St. Paul United Church of Christ, Wapakoneta for over 60 years, where she was very active in the women's groups. She was a member of the Wapakoneta Senior Citizens and had volunteered at Auglaize Acres. She especially enjoyed her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Funeral services are scheduled to begin at 10:30 a.m. Thursday August 29, 2013 at Schlosser Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Wapakoneta. Pastor Becky Sunday will be officiating. Burial will follow at Greenlawn Cemetery, Wapakoneta. Friends may call from 3-7 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
