Connie S. Butcher, 74, of Fryburg passed away at 11:54 p.m. Sunday, April 30, 2023 at Mercy Health-St. Rita’s Medical Center, Lima.

She was born on August 12, 1948 in Shelby County to George & Edna (Steinke) Manger who preceded her in death.  On January 21, 1971 she married Don Butcher and he survives.

Survivors include 4 children Daniel (Beth) Butcher, Cathy (Scott) Platfoot, Cindy (Alex) Koenig, Benjamin (Annette) Butcher; 13 grandchildren Ethan Butcher, Dean Butcher, Conner Butcher, Madilynn (Luke) Albers, Mason Platfoot, Myles Platfoot, MJ Platfoot, Emerson Koenig, Isaac Koenig, Noah Butcher, Norval Butcher, Owen Butcher and Ava Butcher; 2 great-grandchildren Easton Albers, Jordynn Albers; a sister Marlene McKee; a brother Ronnie (Monica) Manger; two sisters-in-law Gloria Manger and Ronda Manger and a brother-in-law Jesse Tripp.

She was preceded in death by 2 brothers LeRoy Manger, Eugene Manger; 2 sisters Juanita Tripp, Mary Ann (Bill) Schmidt and a brother-in-law Robert McKee.

Connie was a 1966 graduate of Botkins High School.  She had worked at Crown Control, New Bremen and Dannon Yogurt, Minster.  She was a member of St. John Catholic Church, Fryburg and the Ladies Sodality.  She served the church for many years preparing funeral dinners and working the Homecoming Festival. Over her lifetime she donated over 100 units of blood at the Community Blood Center.  She enjoyed cooking, sewing, card games and especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren.  She also enjoyed collecting angels.

Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 10:30 a.m. Friday, May 5, 2023 at St. John Catholic Church, Fryburg with Rev. Sean Wilson officiating.  Burial will follow at Petersburg Cemetery, Fryburg.  Family and friends may visit from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Thursday at Schlosser Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Wapakoneta.

Memorial contributions may be directed to the Cancer Association of Auglaize County or to the St. John Catholic Church, Ladies Sodality.
