Colton Charles Duty, 21, of Columbus passed away unexpectedly at 1:14 p.m. Thursday, May 12, 2022 at his residence.

He was born on March 11, 2001, in Lima, to Candace Brown and Chad Duty.  His mother survives in Walbridge.  His father and stepmother, Kendra, survive in Spencerville.

Colton is also survived by a brother, Grant Duty, of Spencerville; 3 step-sisters, Haley, Ashley, and Jeanann; a step-brother, Gauge; maternal grandparents, Daniel (Katy) Brown; paternal grandfather, C.W. Duty; an aunt, Connie Brown; an uncle, Sean Duty; and several cousins.

He was preceded in death by his maternal grandmother, Debra Brown and paternal grandmother, Sharon K. Duty.

A 2019 graduate of Indian River High School, Colton was a talented artist, who loved music, singing, and dancing.  He enjoyed gardening and playing video games.  Colton wrote songs and stories with the Freedom Writers of Wooster College.  He will be remembered for his love of Harley Quinn from the DC Comics.  Colton especially loved all the little moments of making memories with his friends and family.

Funeral services will begin at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, May 19, 2022 at Schlosser Funeral Home & Cremation Services with Rev. Kent Place officiating.  Burial will follow at Buckland Cemetery.  Friends may call from 5:00 – 8:00 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Epilepsy Foundation.
