Clay Knoch Jr., 92, of Wapakoneta, passed away at 4:10 p.m., Friday August 11, 2017 at Cridersville Healthcare Center surrounded by his family.
He was born in Union Township on June 29, 1925 to Clay W. & Carrie (Morris) Knoch who have preceded him in death. On June 21, 1945 he married Frances L. Allen who passed away on February 22, 2005.
Survivors include two children; Pam (Dennis) Stephenson, of Dayton, Mark (Karen) Knoch of Wapakoneta, 6 grandchildren Ginger (Matt) Willis, Cassie (Tony) Coletta, Sean (Lisa) Knoch, Kasey Knoch, Jenna (Frank) Fortman, Codi (Eric) Shellenbarger, 13 great-grandchildren, 1 great-great-grandson, a sister Georgia Lee and 4 brothers Tom, Rex, Ted and Dick.
He was preceded in death by two sisters, Glenna and Lucille and 4 brothers Morris, Brooks, Bill and Alwayne.
Clay was a 1942 graduate of Blume High School. Retired after 30 years of service from Standard Oil in Lima. After retirement he pursued his passion of racing horses which he did up into his eighties. He and Frances enjoyed square dancing but most of all he loved spending time with his grandchildren and family.
Funeral services will begin at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, August 16, 2017 at Schlosser Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Wapakoneta with Pastor Gary Bragg officiating. Burial will at Memorial Park Cemetery, Lima. Friends may call from 4-8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions made be directed to the Auglaize County Council on Aging or to the Alzheimer’s Association.
