Clara R. "Clarie" Kohler, 85, of Wapakoneta passed away at 3:42 P.M. November 29, 2012 at St. Rita's Medical Center, Lima.
She was born February 24, 1927 in Auglaize County to Albert & Lorena (Schaub) Kreitzer who preceded her in death.
On April 17, 1948 she married Paul A. Kohler.
She is survived by a daughter; Barb (Jim) Price, a sister Linda Oen both of Wapakoneta, and a brother John Kreitzer of Florida, and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by a brother Earl Kreitzer, a sister Anna Hemmert, a sister in law Anna Kohler, and a brother in law and sister in law Herbert (Herbie) & Dora Kohler.
Clara was a graduate of St. Joseph High School and was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church. She was also a member of the Auglaize County Farm Bureau. She had worked at Fisher Cheese in Wapakoneta for several years. She was a farmer, farmer's wife, and a good steward of the soil who thoroughly enjoyed farming with her husband their entire lives. Clarie was skilled in handling farm machinery as much as her male counterparts long before it was socially acceptable. She even drove a Caterpillar back in the 50's and 60's. She enjoyed the outdoors and all aspects of farm life.
Mass of Christian Burial is scheduled to begin at 10:30 A.M. Monday December 3, 2012 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Wapakoneta. Father Patrick Sloneker will be officiating. Burial will follow at the church cemetery. Friends may call from 2-5 P.M. Sunday and one hour prior to the service at Schlosser Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Wapakoneta.
