Charlyine E. Kantner 88, of Wapakoneta died at 5:26 P.M. Monday January 7, 2013 at her residence surrounded by her family.
She was born on March 23, 1924 in New Knoxville to Harold J. & Louetta (Wiethoff) Kuck who preceded her in death.
On February 2, 1944 she married Luther R. Kantner and he passed away on January 25, 2006.
She is survived by a son; Dean (Betty) Kantner, a daughter Diane (Fred) Schlosser both of Wapakoneta, four grandchildren Connie (Chris) Case, Scott (Thia) Kantner, Brian (Jenn) Schlosser, and Debbie Schlosser all of Wapakoneta, 8 great-grandchildren Jared Fleck, Logan Kantner, Sarina Fleck, Johnathon Schlosser, Cathleen Case, Kaitlynne Kantner, Dusty Kantner, and Brody Schlosser, 3 step great-grandchildren Ben Case, Daniel Case, and Lucas Case,a brother Marvin Kuck, and a sister Marjorie Schindel.
Charlyine was a 1942 graduate of New Knoxville High School. She retired from the Wapakoneta City Schools after 30 years in food service. She was a member of St. Paul U.C.C. in Wapakoneta. She enjoyed sewing and crafts and was especially known for her pies, cakes, and cinnamon rolls.
Funeral services are scheduled to begin at 10:30 A.M. Friday January 11, 2013 at Schlosser Funeral Home & Cremation Services. Burial will follow at Greenlawn Cemetery, Wapakoneta. Friends may call from 2-4 and 6-8 P.M. Thursday at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be directed to St. Johns Vol. Fire & Rescue or to St. Rita's Hospice.
