Charles R. "Butch" Keneipp, 63, of Wapakoneta died at 8:51 P.M. August 9, 2010 at Auglaize Acres.
He was born November 27, 1946 in Oakland City, IN to Charles M. Keneipp and Pauline M. (Hopper) Smith who preceded him in death. On October 12, 1968 he married JoAnn (Jolly) Keneipp who survives.
Survivors also include two daughters, Stacey (Darin) Applegate & Laura Keneipp, and one son Chris Keneipp; 3 grandchildren McKenzie, McKayla, and Damon Applegate all of Wapakoneta; 3 sisters Karen Keneipp of Celina, Dixie (Chuck) Courtney of Vincennes, IN and Paula McLaughlin of St. Marys; a mother-in-law Mary Jolly; 3 brother-in-laws Vincent (Joan) Jolly, Greg (Paula Ike) Jolly & John (Susan Flarida) Jolly all of Wapakoneta and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father-in-law Allen Jolly and a brother-in-law Tim Jolly.
Mr. Keneipp was a 1965 graduate of Oakland City High School. He then served in the U.S. Army during Vietnam as a photographer. He worked for BP Chemical in Lima for 38 years in the maintenance department rebuilding pumps. He also coached baseball at Buckland for 14 years. He was an avid animal lover and enjoyed working on his farm and spending time with his two special friends "Spanky" their Border Collie and "T.J." their horse. He especially enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and watching them at their sporting events.
A Prayer Service is scheduled to begin at 7:00 P. M. Thursday August 12, 2010 at Schlosser Funeral Home & Cremation Services where military rites will be performed by the V.F.W. Post 8445 immediately following the service. Pastor James Couser will be officiating. Friends may call from 3 P.M. until the time of the service.
