Catherine F. Kohlrieser Koenig, 92, of Wapakoneta died at 4:50 A.M. Saturday February 6, 2010 at the Gardens at Wapakoneta.
Katie was born October 2, 1917 to M. Henry & Mary (Hess) Miller in Lima, OH who preceded her in death. On April 30, 1947 she married Melvin Kohlrieser who died on May 30, 1950. She then married Marion A. Koenig on February 3, 1953 and he died in June 17, 2002.
Katie is survived by 2 sons, Michael J. (Bea Reineke) Kohlrieser, of Wapakoneta and Kenneth J. (Pam) Kohlrieser, of Spencerville; one daughter, Deborah A. (Carlton E.) Randall; a step son in law, Larry Miller, both of Wapakoneta; two sisters, Hazel Dunn and Louise Klopfenstein; two brothers, Robert (Martha) Miller and Marion (Betty) Miller; 9 grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a son, Leonard J. Koenig; a step daughter, Diane E. (Koenig) Miller; and a brother, Virgil Miller.
Katie was a 1936 graduate of Elida High School. She was a member and attended St. Joseph Catholic Church in Wapakoneta and St. John Catholic Church in Freyburg. She was also a member of the Disabled American Veterans Auxiliary. She was one of the first women to be hired at Westinghouse. She retired from Miller's Textile as a seamstress after 23 years of service. She enjoyed sewing and needle work crafts. She especially enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She will be fondly remembered and was always liked by everyone she met in her life.
A Mass of Christian Burial is scheduled for 10:30 A.M. Wednesday February 10, 2010 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Wapakoneta. The Rev. Patrick L. Sloneker will be officiating. Burial will follow at St. John Catholic Cemetery in Freyburg. Friends may call from 4-8 Tuesday at Schlosser Funeral Home & Cremation Services 615 N. Dixie Hwy. Wapakoneta, where a Disable American Veterans Auxiliary prayer service will be held at 8:00 P.M.
