Carolyn J. (Burris) Zenz

Carolyn J. Zenz, 75, of Wapakoneta, passed away at 3:31 a.m., Friday, May 10, 2024 at Lima Memorial Health System, with her family at her side after a two-year battle with ovarian cancer.  She was born on August 24, 1948 in Celina, to Charles L. and Florence E. (Naylor) Burris who have preceded her in death.  On March 30, 1968, she married Ronald L. Zenz, who survives.  They recently celebrated their 56th wedding anniversary.

Survivors also include her two daughters, Lorina & Troy King, of Columbus Grove and April Albers & Andy Chaney, of St. Marys; grandchildren, Audrey Albers, of Miamisburg, Makenzie King, of Columbus Grove and Bryce King, of Bowling Green; sister, Elaine Dulebohn, of Wapakoneta; sister-in-law, Diane Zenz, of Wapakoneta; niece, Sherri Ault, of Pickerington; and great-niece and great-nephew, Lindsay Ault and Ben Ault, both of Pickerington.

Carolyn was preceded in death by a brother-in-law, Walter Dulebohn; and sister-in-law, Linnie Zenz.

A 1966 graduate of St. Joseph High School, Carolyn served the citizens of Auglaize County as a dispatcher with the Auglaize County Sheriff's Office for 23 years.  She was a social member of the VFW Post 8445, Wapakoneta; and a life member of the AMVETS Post 333, Wapakoneta, where she was a former officer of the Auxiliary and the Moose Lodge 388, Indian Lake.  Carolyn loved spending time with her family and friends, enjoying life to its fullest.

A Time of Gathering will take place from 3:00 to 6:00 p.m. Thursday, May 16, 2024 at Schlosser Funeral Home & Cremation Services, where the Auglaize County Sheriff's Office will provide Carolyn's "Last Call" at 6:00 p.m.  Immediately following the Time of Gathering, family and friends may join the family at the American Legion Annex, at 214 S.
