Carolyn K. Smith, 77, of Cridersville passed away at 6:40 a.m. Saturday August 22, 2015 at her residence surrounded by her family.
She was born on January 28, 1938 in Michigan to Cash E. & Blanche M. (Matheny) Taylor who preceded her in death. On May 24, 1955 she married George E. Smith and he survives in Cridersville.
Survivors include 5 children; Connie (Robert) Smith-LeBoeuf, Scott Smith, Kerri (Ned) Dicke, Tracy (Bruce) Schumann, Tim (Kendra) Smith, 10 grandchildren Eran (Jeremy Erwin) Smith, Amanda Smith, Jason (Vivian) Smith, Jennifer (Eric) VanSkyock, Michael (Jen) Dicke, Jared (Tiffany) Schumann, Justin (Rachel) Schumann, Brian, Eric and Baylee Smith, 10 great-grandchildren Kaitlin, Marshall and Emma Smith, Brentley and Alexis VanSkyock, Hannah, Emma, Wyatt, Logan and Liam Schumann and a sister Donna Jones.
She was preceded in death by a grandson Matthew Smith and a brother Jim Taylor.
Carolyn was a homemaker. She volunteered for Lima Memorial Health Systems in the pharmacy for over 25 years. She was a member of the Cridersville United Methodist Church. She was also a member of a bowling league. She was well known of sending cards to her family and friends.
She enjoyed flowers and crossword puzzles but most especially she loved her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will begin at 3:00 p.m. Tuesday August 25, 2015 at Schlosser Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Wapakoneta. Pastor Charles Martindell will be officiating. Burial will follow at Greenlawn Cemetery, Wapakoneta. Friends may call from 1:00 p.m. until the time of the service.
Memorial contributions may be directed to St. Rita's Hospice.
