Carl E. Larger, 83, of Wapakoneta died at 1:50 p.m. Wednesday June 25, 2014 at Wapakoneta Manor.
He was born on March 8, 1931 in Shelby County to Andrew H. & Josephine (Seger) Larger who preceded him in death.
On October 2, 1954 he married Helen G. Dapore and she survives in Wapakoneta.
Survivors also include 5 children; Kenneth (Patsy) Larger of London, KY, Judy Larger of Katy, TX, Carla Weeks of Salt Lake City, UT, Theresa (Tim) Brookman of New Knoxville and Ron (Stacey) Larger of Longwood, FL, 7 grandchildren Stephanie Gross, Dan Brookman, Melanie and Mary Weeks, Christina, Katie and Bethany Larger, 2 great-grandchildren Aubrey and Nolan Gross, and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by 3 sisters; Mildred and Verna Geise, Virginia Goubeaux, and a brother Adrian Larger.
Carl was a 1949 graduate of Perry High School in Shelby County. He was a lifelong farmer and retired after 38 years from Superior Tube in Wapakoneta. He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles 691 and St. Joseph Catholic Church. He enjoyed visiting with family and friends, traveling, reading and was a chapel adoration participant. He especially enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 10:00 a.m. Saturday June 28, 2014 at St. Joseph Catholic Church. Rev. Patrick Sloneker will be officiating. Burial will follow at the church cemetery. Friends may call from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Friday at Schlosser Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Wapakoneta.
Memorial contributions may be directed to American Cancer Society and St. Jude Children's Hospital.
