Betty G. Byer, 80, of Waynesfield, passed away the morning of February 7, 2017, at her home. She was born on September 24, 1936, in McGuffey, to Burl & Bessie (Compton) Kennedy, who have preceded her in death. Her husband, Richard Byer, and her siblings, Carol, Chuck, and Garland have also preceded her in death.
She is survived by her daughter, Kathy & Jay Messenger; two grandchildren, Steven & Julie Messenger and Amy Michael; six great-grandchildren; two sisters, Grace and Mary; and her beloved pets.
Betty was a member of the Waynesfield Baptist Church.
Graveside services will begin at 11 a.m. Friday, February 10, 2017 at Willow Branch Cemetery, Waynesfield. Pastor Don Smith will officiate. The family has entrusted Schlosser Funeral Home & Cremation Services to handle the arrangements.
