Alice M. Schwer 82, of Wapakoneta died at 5:17 A.M. October 11, 2011 at St. Rita's Medical Center, Lima.
She was born May 1, 1929 in Lima, Ohio to Joe & Sarah (Higgins) Kohler who preceded her in death.
On June 17, 1950 she married Joseph L. Schwer who survives in Wapakoneta.
She is also survived by three daughters and three sons; Sandy (Denny) Harrod of Jacksonville, FL, Joseph M. (Pam) Schwer, Julie (Dale) Zwiebel, Tom Schwer all of Wapakoneta, Jeff Schwer of St. Marys and Jamie (Jon) Waterman of Wapakoneta; 11 grandchildren Matt (Kim) Harrod, Doug Harrod, Jason Schwer, Brett Schwer, Lindsay (Justin) Amaral, Jeremy Zwiebel, Brittany Zwiebel, Jackson Waterman, Justine Waterman, Danielle Stein and Travis Schwer; 5 great grandchildren; and two sisters Edith (Harold) Stroh of Wapakoneta, and Nell Gault of Seattle, WA.
She was preceded in death by two sisters and five brothers.
Alice was a 1947 graduate of St. Joseph High School. She was also a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church. She retired after 20 plus years from St. Rita's Medical Center as an admissions clerk. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren along with gardening and flowers. She especially enjoyed playing Bingo at St. Joe.
Mass of Christian Burial is scheduled to begin at 10:30 A.M. Friday at St. Joseph Catholic Church. Rev. Patrick Sloneker will be officiating. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery. Friends may call from 2-4 and 6-8 Thursday at Schlosser Funeral Home & Cremation Services 615 N. Dixie Hwy., Wapakoneta.
